Return to innocence

I had scribbled(!) this on my cell phone at 0400 hours,got awakened suddenly !

As I grew up(physically and psychologically), I grew more dysphoric. Responsibilities,expectations,mandates,ground situations – all seem to strangle the very innocence that cushions from apprehensions,keeps the vibrancy and energy pumping.

The below words are an offshoot of a blend – Quarter-life crisis + nostalgia + laments + dreams + …

I am sure that many of the people reading these lines can relate to them.

*****************************************************************

A domino of challenges awaits,
the search for eternal love begins;
but a craving of return to innocence,
still in the soul reigns.

People say it’s a transition,
a verdict of life I have to respect;
What about the voids,
the untimely/wrong verdicts have left??

Present is the fruit of past,
present is the mother of future;
with a fruitless past n ailing present,
what hopes would one nurture?

New trails are calling,
time has come to catch the gear;
but the lost trails still hurt,
strangling soul with despair;

Oh Lord!
Hail a shower of love,fill the weary heart with boost!
the saga of deprival should end,
can’t afford any more ooze.

Standing on a river bank to bid farewell,
with childhood wavering on other;
the lamb is dragged onto destiny,
why would anyone bother?

Waiting for the past to glimmer,
coveting future’s fragrance,
maybe in some other life,
will return back to innocence…
