The Winter Song

I scribbled the below lines when traveling in a bus on a cool, foggy (early)morning. Well, I am happy that I wrote something to do justice to the charming winter 🙂

*****************************************************************

In dreams I hear a faint sound,
and then fumble to snooze the alarm;
Feel like rolling the bed around,
So seducing is the sleep’s charm;

Fuming water & a quick bath,
Then a king’s breakfast I eat;
A freezing ride on a soggy path,
In train no takers for the window seat;

The sun is awake but lazing,
under thick blanket of the fog;
Hollow,infinite,mesmerizing,
Tempted to take a jog;

For human body’s basic acts,
this season is divine;
eat,work-out or hibernate,
Or grab your honey and a wine;

My body is at workplace,
and my mind on a vacation;
Stalled plans are now picking pace,
Time’s ripe to break inaction;

Long bicycle rides to roll,
Aimless rambles at the dawn;
A breezy beach and a quiet stroll,
Mountain strides to test the brawn;

A table near the fireplace,
leaning on an armchair;
sipping hot tea with grace,
Kindling the writer’s flair;

On the green grass the dew is shining,
days are short and the nights long;
hear through that mist lining,
The Nature humming the Winter Song;
