Where have all those trees gone?
In whose shade I used to play,
Oh Yeah,many a maps were drawn,
On their graves big foundations lay !
Where are those vast lands lost?
Till the Horizon which took the view,
Oh Yeah,they now have a high cost,
But reverent to only a few !
(Big cities created but irreversible damages are done to environment.Realty lust has cause depletion in agriculture which is the country’s economic backbone – these days people just want to buy and sell property ! )
Where has all that fresh air vanished?
That used to cleanse my soul,
Oh Yeah,daily a new car is furnished,
On scavenged stuff it’s wheels roll !
How food became a luxury norm?
When it’s purity became a History?
Oh yeah,economy is just a reform,
Its parameters are a mystery!
(Pollution,traffic due >1 vehicles per household – do I need to say anything else? While the call charges are in paisa, what about rice,daal etc. ???)
When did the time start running so fast?
Once I decided it’s pace !
Oh yeah,I can’t afford to come last,
In the glorified rat race !
(>12 hr out of home – what do we gain other than bread and few peripheral things,end of the day/year ???)
When did education became a hype?
Is Knowledge imparted today?
Oh yeah,degrees decide your type,
Promotions & hikes are the high ways !
(English compositions used to written in much better ways than the kids write today – no failures till std. 9. Engineering pass-outs wanna do MBA and they say ‘C’ is an outdated language – any more explanation needed ??? )
How recreation became so flat?
Gadgets/Feasts/Movies/Vacations – at a high price!
Oh yeah,a spending like that,
Helps the ‘economy’ to rise !
(Spending helps economy grow – death to all those who propogate this fatal concept. In trains,on roads anywhere – do people interact or do they prefer sticking their *sses to cellphones,iPods etc. ?)
How simplicity became a folly?
And mother tounges lost their glory?
Oh yeah,with the ‘globe’ one needs to tally,
Culture is an old myth & story !
(India is the ONLY nation which has adopted English for reasons far,far bigger than ‘professional’ needs – it’s a colonial hangover.A person not knowing English is still looked-down upon in Indian metros!)
How families became so small?
How children are kept away for so long?
Oh yeah,privacy is the day’s call,
Keeping kids busy isn’t wrong !
(I always say that I doubt how many of our generation will be grandparents,the way by which our lifestyle is going! There was one time when mothers used to wait impatiently for kids to return home,these days,mothers complain to teachers that their kids play havoc at home,hence,should be kept busy always !)
When did these myriad networks rise?
And catered to the man’s social needs?
Oh yeah,they come at no price,
We are the fast and tech-savvy creeds !
(Most of the ‘youngsters’,including me,feel comfortable to express even the trivial feelings on Twitter & FB – is that human ??? )
Fighting a worthless,unending war,
Just because I avoid breaking the bars !
The Life has much more to live for,
Rise high and aim for stars !
