Raindrops are falling on my head

This isn’t a typical rain-poem – I wrote it in bus when a few drops landed on my face while peeping out of the window. Raindrops – tiny particles forming a big event !

Note : The last line of the poem (deliberately)coincides with the 1969 song by B.J Thomas with the same title.

*****************************************************************
In lakes, rivers & oceans they lie,
The shores & sun they brave,
Unnoticed by a naive eye,
They form the surface, they form the wave

They change themselves to form the clouds,
Away from home – they drift so long,
They cram up like soldiers with shrouds,
To march on the thunder song

Falling off like heavy tears,
Unaware of where to go,
Hailing down like savage spears,
‘It won’t last long’ is all they know

Getting lost in the new waters,
Like a ship with a broken helm,
Hitting those long-scorched lands,
The parched earth isn’t polite to them

Like angels that He has sent,
A new life they spread,
With aroma and aura of content,
Those raindrops are falling on my head
