On a Nature Trail

Scribbled(as usual)in an ST bus while recalling the previous monsoon trips and dreaming about the oncoming ones – HAPPY MONSOON 🙂

*****************************************************************
The Rains have given the heat a smack,
Its time to chuck the inaction,
Loose clothes and a backpack,
And we are gone in a second’s fraction

In rains empty beaches we tread,
The Monsoon winds dash against us,
This rough joy the posers dread,
Who are now busy in a fuss

Through the soaked fields when we walk,
A content Farmer greets with a smile,
Driving his plough & a bullock,
All of them very agile

Through the narrow and soggy gullies we ply,
And bath in streams with bodies bare,
Awed by the pitch-dark sky,
Dazed by the lightning’s glare

In thunders we hear the Mountain’s Call,
With birds & Wind we fly to Thee,
Taking the wham of a waterfall,
And laying wet beneath a Tree

Into a green & dense Forest we crouch,
Creepers, insects, rotted leaves we brave,
By a gushing river we slouch,
Cause messing with it means walking to the grave

In creaking buses with leaking roofs,
Or on bikes, bicycles we hit the Road,
For a Destination don’t vie our Hoofs,
The Journey is our Abode

Hot Vada and steaming Ginger tea,
Munching on the roasted corn,
In a hut feasting Zunka, Bhakar & Burjee,
Whetting appetites, dieting we scorn

No ruckus that disturbs the Peace,
NO littering along the way,
Walk, Talk & Live at ease,
All the Nature’s Laws we Obey

Driven by a charged Ahoy,
Alike the search for a Grail,
The Hearts are filled with zeal and joy,
As we set on a Nature Trail
