For IT and the other sedentary professionals glued to their machines, eyes should be a big concern. Keeping them clean, looking at distant objects to relax the vision and protecting them from harmful substances are few of the basics.
I scribbled the below lines while traveling from a clean environment to a polluted one, thinking just about my eyes …
********************************************************************************
For hours at the monitor I stare,
Writing what dumb machines need to call,
Battling the monotony and the glare,
Stuffed in the cubicles so small
For tea or lunch when I walk,
That’s when the sight travels far,
But there’s nothing but a balk,
As the ‘development’ has no bar
By pollution the commutation is whammed,
Smoke , Dust – the Satan knows what more !
All that’s seen – vehicles, buildings crammed,
Watering, itching and irritations galore !
A travel to the towns and the countryside,
The eyelids touched by clean air,
The Horizon and the landscapes wide,
The open space isn’t rare
The wind rustles through the trees,
Over the lush green fields a merry bird flies,
The line of sight finds mountains and seas,
Its the Nature’s treat for the Sore Eyes
