38 cm SK C/34 naval gun

Mainly used on Tirpitz-class battleships and in coastal batteries, this gun was one of the giants of the 19th century. It was designed in 1934 by German group Krupp and was in service from 1939-45(maybe, later). Weighing above 110 tons and depending on the shell types and weights(from 400 – 800 kg), it could achieve a range ranging from 35 – 55 km. 2-3 rounds per minute could be fired but such guns required strong and efficient men, at least 10-12 to operate it effectively. The successive models were lighter and more effective, however, these railroad type guns were soon phased out, as the technology advanced.
