Water-powered mill

Water-powered mills are scattered across Sweden, and this is one example. It is a structure that uses a water wheel or water turbine to drive a mechanical process such as milling (grinding), rolling, or hammering. Such processes are needed in the production of many material goods, including flour, lumber, paper, textiles, and many metal products.

This mill was built in the early 1800s, and as per the local parish records, it was used to saw timber. It was renovated in 1970s for preservation. The diameter of the wheel is 6m, and at peak operation level, 0.5 cubic water passed every second.
