The Lonely Sky

Some thoughts that I had in my teens. Though I have written these lines recently,I have made a sincere attempt to retain the teenage flavor of the emotions

*****************************************************************

Though it is seen from everywhere,
Eternally longing for a touch,
Though it’s heart seems clear and bare,
Even at horizon there’s no one to clutch.

For the twilight and the dawn,
For the rainbow and the flare,
Just a canvas with things drawn,
Of  fillingness it’s just a snare.

A simile for success,
A symbol for  boundlessness,
Always watched for  egress,
But never able to express.

Every moment a star falls,
The clouds conceal it’s face,
The thunder suppresses it’s calls,
The birds are too busy in their race.

Clouds drift with no bars,
And a hundred merry birds fly,
Amidst those thousand shining stars,
Is the lonely sky.

  1. Thanks keviv !I had the same thought in my mind about the impersonation. But I chucked that idea because I am inclined to keep things a bit abstract, yet, depictive ! Had I impersonated the sky,I would have lost the apparent effect – a lonely person using sky as a medium to express himself. But yes,I appreciate your view too !!!
